11 HOUSE BILL NO. 4868 A bill to amend 1972 PA 230, entitled "Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act," (MCL 125.1501 to 125.1531) by adding section 4i. the people of the state of michigan enact: Sec. 4i. (1) All of the following must not be installed in or on a new fire station, including its rooftop or an adjacent structure to the fire station, or placed within 1,500 feet of a fire station: (a) A 4G or 5G main transmission antenna. (b) Equipment that is 6 cubic feet or more in size and is used to support 4G or 5G transmission. (c) An antenna used to support 4G or 5G transmission. (2) This section does not prohibit the installation or placement of a small internet router unless the internet router weighs 15 pounds or more or is used solely for the purpose of providing 4G or 5G service. (3) As used in this section: (a) "4G" means the fourth generation of broadband cellular network technology. (b) "5G" means the fifth-generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks. (c) "New fire station" means a fire station that is initially constructed on or after the effective date of the amendatory act that added this section.
