11 HOUSE BILL NO. 5558 A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 43536a (MCL 324.43536a), as amended by 2014 PA 281. the people of the state of michigan enact: Sec. 43536a. (1) Beginning March 1, 2014, an An active member of the military may obtain any license under this part for which a lottery is not required at no cost upon presentation to a licensing agent of leave papers, duty papers, military orders, or other evidence acceptable to the department verifying that he or she the individual is stationed outside of this state. The license is valid during the season in which that license would otherwise be valid. (2) A first responder may obtain any license under this part for which a lottery is not required at no cost upon presentation to a licensing agent of the individual's system maintenance of knowledge and education number, proof that the individual is licensed as a medical first responder, emergency medical technician, emergency medical technician specialist, paramedic, or emergency medical services instructor-coordinator, or other evidence acceptable to the department. The license is valid during the season in which that license would otherwise be valid. (3) (2) As used in this section: , "active (a) "Active member of the military" means either of the following: (i) (a) An individual described by section 43506(3)(d). (ii) (b) An individual who meets all of the following requirements: (A) (i) The individual is a reserve component soldier, sailor, airman, or marine or member of the Michigan national guard National Guard and is called to federal active duty. (B) (ii) At the time the individual was called to federal active duty, he or she the individual was a resident of this state. (C) (iii) The individual has maintained his or her the individual's residence in this state for the purpose of obtaining a driver license or voter registration, or both. (b) "First responder" means either of the following: (i) Emergency medical services personnel as that term is defined in section 20904 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.20904. (ii) A firefighter as that term is defined in section 1 of the fire prevention code, 1941 PA 207, MCL 29.1. Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect unless all of the following bills of the 102nd Legislature are enacted into law: (a) Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 5559 (request no. 05176'24 *). (b) Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 5560 (request no. 05507'24 *).
