11 HOUSE BILL NO. 5708 A bill to amend 1968 PA 302, entitled "An act to define and prescribe the penalties for the crime of rioting and related crimes; and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts," by amending section 4 (MCL 752.544), as amended by 1988 PA 393. the people of the state of michigan enact: Sec. 4. (1) A violation of section 1 , 2, or 2a is a felony, punishable by not more less than 10 5 years in prison or more than life or any term of years or a fine of not more than $10,000.00, or both. (2) A violation of section 2 is a felony. The court shall sentence a person who violates section 2 to imprisonment for not less than 10 years or more than life. (3) (2) A violation of section 3 is a felony, punishable by not more than 5 years in prison or a fine of not more than $5,000.00, or both. Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.
