11 HOUSE BILL NO. 6022 A bill to amend 1993 PA 327, entitled "Tobacco products tax act," by amending section 14 (MCL 205.434). the people of the state of michigan enact: Sec. 14. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, beginning on the effective date of this act, This act does not prohibit or in any way restrict a city, township, village, county, or other local unit of government , or political subdivision of this state shall not impose any new from imposing a requirement or prohibition pertaining to the sale or licensure of tobacco products. for distribution purposes. This section does not invalidate or otherwise restrict a requirement or prohibition described in this section existing on the effective date of this act.Subject to any applicable laws of this state regarding the adoption of an ordinance or regulation, a city, township, village, county, or other local unit of government or political subdivision of this state may adopt ordinances and regulations pertaining to the sale and licensure of tobacco products.
