11 HOUSE BILL NO. 6250 A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled "The revised school code," (MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1166c. the people of the state of michigan enact: Sec. 1166c. (1) The department shall develop or adopt, and make available to schools, a model program of instruction in the prevention of cyberbullying and harassment for each grade level. The model program of instruction in the prevention of cyberbullying and harassment must be age appropriate. (2) The board of a school district or intermediate school district or board of directors of a public school academy is strongly encouraged to incorporate the model program of instruction in the prevention of cyberbullying and harassment developed or adopted under subsection (1) into the curriculum for each grade level at schools operated by the board or board of directors. (3) As used in this section, "cyberbullying and harassment" means the use of electronic communication devices, including, but not limited to, cell phones, personal computers, and tablets, to bully an individual, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature.
