44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; HELMETS TO HARDHATS.​
66 1.6 $238,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $238,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the​
77 1.7workforce development fund to the commissioner of labor and industry for a grant to Building​
88 1.8Strong Communities for the Minnesota Helmets to Hardhats program. These funds must​
99 1.9be used to facilitate participation of National Guard, reserve, and active duty military​
1010 1.10members and veterans in apprenticeship programs registered with the Department of Labor​
1111 1.11and Industry and connect these members and veterans to career training and employment​
1212 1.12in the building and construction industries. Program recruitment, selection, employment,​
1313 1.13and training must not discriminate based on race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex,​
1414 1.14sexual orientation, marital status, physical or mental disability, receipt of public assistance,​
1515 1.15or age.​
