44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 116.06, is amended by adding a subdivision​
66 1.6to read:​
77 1.7 Subd. 4b.Animal feedlot.(a) "Animal feedlot" means a lot or building or combination​
88 1.8of lots and buildings intended for the confined feeding, breeding, raising, or holding of​
99 1.9animals:​
1010 1.10 (1) that is specifically designed as a confinement area in which manure may accumulate;​
1111 1.11or​
1212 1.12 (2) where the concentration of animals is such that a vegetative cover cannot be​
1313 1.13maintained within the enclosure.​
1414 1.14 (b) Animal feedlot includes open lots used for feeding and rearing poultry, except that​
1515 1.15a lot with 12 or fewer chickens is not an animal feedlot. Animal feedlot does not include a​
1616 1.16pasture.​
