55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PROPOSED.​
77 1.7 An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution is proposed to the people. If the amendment​
88 1.8is adopted, article IV, section 12, will read:​
99 1.9 Sec. 12. The legislature shall meet at the seat of government in regular session in each​
1010 1.10biennium at the times prescribed by law for not exceeding a total of 120 legislative days.​
1111 1.11If a house does not organize on the day prescribed by law for convening the legislature, the​
1212 1.12members of that house must not be compensated for any day that the house is not duly​
1313 1.13organized. The legislature shall not meet in regular session, nor in any adjournment thereof,​
1414 1.14after the first Monday following the third Saturday in May of any year. After meeting at a​
1515 1.15time prescribed by law, the legislature may adjourn to another time. "Legislative day" shall​
1616 1.16be defined by law. A special session of the legislature may be called by the governor on​
1717 1.17extraordinary occasions.​
1818 1.18 Neither house during a session of the legislature shall adjourn for more than three days​
1919 1.19(Sundays excepted) nor to any other place than that in which the two houses shall be​
2020 1.20assembled without the consent of the other house.​
