1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to solid waste; restricting disposal of wind and solar energy infrastructure;
1.3 proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 115A.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. [115A.9563] WIND AND SOLAR ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE
1.6DISPOSAL; PROHIBITION.
1.7 (a) For the purposes of this section, "wind and solar energy infrastructure" means:
1.8 (1) solar photovoltaic modules or system installation components; or
1.9 (2) wind energy conversion systems or wind energy conversion system components.
1.10 (b) No person may place wind and solar energy infrastructure:
1.11 (1) in mixed municipal solid waste;
1.12 (2) in a solid waste processing or disposal facility that is not a recycling facility; or
1.13 (3) in or on the land.
1.14 (c) This section may be enforced under sections 115.071 and 116.072.
1.15 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
