55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124D.42, subdivision 9, is amended to read:​
77 1.7 Subd. 9.Minnesota math corps program.(a) A Minnesota math corps program is​
88 1.8established to give provide ServeMinnesota AmeriCorps members with a data-based​
99 1.9problem-solving model of mathematics instruction useful for to use in providing elementary​
1010 1.10and middle school students and their teachers with instructional support. Minnesota math​
1111 1.11corps must use evidence-based instructional support to evaluate and accelerate student​
1212 1.12learning on foundational mathematics skills that enable students to meet state academic​
1313 1.13standards in mathematics and long-term proficiency expectations for the workforce.​
1414 1.14 (b) The commission must submit a biennial report to the committees of the legislature​
1515 1.15with jurisdiction over kindergarten through grade 12 education that records and evaluates​
1616 1.16program data to determine the efficacy of the programs under this subdivision.​
17-1.17 (c) For purposes of this subdivision, "evidence-based" means the instruction or curriculum​
18-1.18is based on reliable, trustworthy, and valid evidence and has demonstrated a record of​
19-1.19success in increasing student competency and proficiency in mathematics and numeracy.​
20-1.20 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2025.​
