44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 3.099, subdivision 3, is amended to read:​
66 1.6 Subd. 3.Leaders.The senate Committee on Rules and Administration for the senate​
77 1.7and the house of representatives Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration for​
88 1.8the house of representatives may each designate for their respective body up to five six​
99 1.9leadership positions to receive up to 140 percent of the compensation of other members.​
1010 1.10 At the commencement of each biennial legislative session, each house of the legislature​
1111 1.11shall adopt a resolution designating its majority and minority leader.​
1212 1.12 The majority leader is the person elected by the caucus of members in each house which​
1313 1.13is its largest political affiliation. The minority leader is the person elected by the caucus​
1414 1.14which is its second largest political affiliation.​
1515 1.15 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective retroactively from January 14, 2025.​
