55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 168.002, subdivision 6, is amended to read:​
77 1.7 Subd. 6.Dealer."Dealer" means any person, firm, or corporation regularly engaged in​
88 1.8the business of manufacturing, or selling, purchasing, and generally dealing in new and​
99 1.9unused motor vehicles having an established place of business for the sale, trade, and display​
1010 1.10of new and unused motor vehicles and having in possession new and unused motor vehicles​
1111 1.11for the purposes of sale or trade. "Dealer" also includes any person, firm or corporation​
1212 1.12regularly engaged in the business of manufacturing or selling, purchasing, and generally​
1313 1.13dealing in new and unused motor vehicle bodies, chassis mounted or not, and having an​
1414 1.14established place of business for the sale, trade and display of such new and unused motor​
1515 1.15vehicle bodies, and having in possession new and unused motor vehicle bodies for the​
1616 1.16purposes of sale or trade. For the purposes of sections 168.27, subdivision 28; 168.33,​
1717 1.17subdivision 8a; 168.345; and 168.346, the commissioner may consider a motor vehicle​
1818 1.18dealer licensed under the laws of a contiguous state as a dealer or licensed dealer.​
1919 1.19 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective October 1, 2025.​
