1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant to the 1.3 Neighborhood Development Center. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT CENTER APPROPRIATION. 1.6 $2,250,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner 1.7of employment and economic development for a grant to the Neighborhood Development 1.8Center (NDC) to support small business programs, including training, lending, business 1.9services, and real estate initiatives. Money may be used to assist organizations outside of 1.10the seven-county metropolitan area with technical assistance and grants to help implement 1.11elements of NDC's small business support model; provide one-on-one technical assistance 1.12for entrepreneurs; and support the operations and marketing of a cybersecurity center. This 1.13is a onetime appropriation. Any unencumbered balance remaining at the end of the first 1.14year does not cancel and is available for use in the second year. 1Section 1.
