1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to taxation; property; authorizing lessees of certain property to request 1.3 property tax statements. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. LESSEES OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY; TAX STATEMENTS. 1.6 Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 275.065, subdivision 3; Minnesota Statutes, 1.7section 276.04, subdivision 3; or any other law to the contrary, a lessee of real property 1.8located in an eligible city may file their name and mailing address with the county auditor 1.9in the county where the land is located for the purpose of receiving a notice of proposed 1.10property tax statement issued under Minnesota Statutes, section 275.065, and the property 1.11tax statement issued under Minnesota Statutes, section 276.04. For purposes of this section, 1.12"eligible city" means a city with a population greater than 940 but less than 960 according 1.13to the 2020 federal census, and located within a county with a population greater than 1.14190,000 but less than 210,000 according to the 2020 federal census. 1.15 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective beginning with property taxes payable 1.16in 2026. 1Section 1.
