55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 168.013, is amended by adding a subdivision​
77 1.7to read:​
88 1.8 Subd. 1n.Disabled veterans.For a vehicle owned by a disabled veteran, the tax imposed​
99 1.9by subdivision 1a must be reduced so that the owner pays a percentage of that tax amount​
1010 1.10that corresponds with the veteran's disability rating percentage as determined by the United​
1111 1.11States Department of Veterans Affairs. Only one vehicle at a time per owner is eligible for​
1212 1.12this reduction.​
1313 1.13 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 168.013, subdivision 8, is amended to read:​
1414 1.14 Subd. 8.Tax proceeds to highway user fund; fee proceeds to driver and vehicle​
1515 1.15services operating account.(a) Unless otherwise specified in this chapter, the net proceeds​
1616 1.16of the registration tax imposed under this chapter must be collected by the commissioner,​
1717 1.17paid into the state treasury, and credited to the highway user tax distribution fund.​
1818 1.18 (b) All fees collected under this chapter, unless otherwise specified, must be deposited​
1919 1.19in the driver and vehicle services operating account under section 299A.705.​
2020 1.20 (c) By July 15 of each fiscal year, the commissioner of management and budget must​
2121 1.21transfer from the general fund to the highway user tax distribution fund an amount equal to​
2222 1.22the total of the tax reductions made under subdivision 1n in the preceding fiscal year.​
