1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to transportation; appropriating money for school bus stop-signal arm
1.3 camera systems.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; TRAFFIC SAFETY.
1.6 $8,400,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.7of public safety for grants to school districts, nonpublic schools, charter schools, and
1.8companies that provide school bus services for the purchase and installation of school bus
1.9stop-signal arm camera systems. In awarding grants, the commissioner must follow the
1.10same requirements as under Laws 2021, First Special Session chapter 5, article 1, section
1.114, subdivision 5. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until June 30, 2027.
