6 | 6 | | 1.6 (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, home rule charter, or ordinance to the |

7 | 7 | | 1.7contrary, a political subdivision shall not impose minimum parking mandates for residential, |

8 | 8 | | 1.8commercial, or industrial properties within its jurisdiction. |

9 | 9 | | 1.9 (b) For purposes of this section, "minimum parking mandate" means a law, rule, or |
---|
10 | 10 | | 1.10ordinance that specifies a minimum number of off-street motor vehicle parking spaces, |
---|
11 | 11 | | 1.11including within a garage or other enclosed area, except that additional disability parking |
---|
12 | 12 | | 1.12spaces may be required to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. |

13 | 13 | | 1.13 (c) This section does not prohibit a political subdivision from passing an ordinance under |
---|
14 | 14 | | 1.14section 169.346, subdivision 4, related to disability parking spaces. |

15 | 15 | | 1.15 (d) This section does not prohibit a political subdivision from offering a nonbinding |

16 | 16 | | 1.16recommendation for a property within its jurisdiction to provide a specified number of |
