4 | 4 | | 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: |

5 | 5 | | 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 148.212, subdivision 1, is amended to read: |

6 | 6 | | 1.6 Subdivision 1.Issuance.Upon receipt of the applicable licensure or reregistration fee |
---|
7 | 7 | | 1.7and permit fee, and in accordance with rules of the board, the board may issue a nonrenewable |
---|
8 | 8 | | 1.8temporary permit to practice professional or practical nursing to an applicant for licensure |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1.9or reregistration who is not the subject of a pending investigation or disciplinary action, nor |
---|
10 | 10 | | 1.10disqualified for any other reason, under the following circumstances: |

11 | 11 | | 1.11 (a) The applicant for licensure by endorsement under section 148.211, subdivision 2, is |
---|
12 | 12 | | 1.12currently licensed to practice professional or practical nursing in another state, territory, or |
---|
13 | 13 | | 1.13Canadian province. The permit is valid until the date of board action on the application or |
---|
14 | 14 | | 1.14for 60 90 days, whichever comes first. |

15 | 15 | | 1.15 (b) The applicant for licensure by endorsement under section 148.211, subdivision 2, |
---|
16 | 16 | | 1.16or for reregistration under section 148.231, subdivision 5, is currently registered in a formal, |
---|
17 | 17 | | 1.17structured refresher course or its equivalent for nurses that includes clinical practice. |
