44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 148.212, subdivision 1, is amended to read:​
66 1.6 Subdivision 1.Issuance.Upon receipt of the applicable licensure or reregistration fee​
77 1.7and permit fee, and in accordance with rules of the board, the board may issue a nonrenewable​
88 1.8temporary permit to practice professional or practical nursing to an applicant for licensure​
99 1.9or reregistration who is not the subject of a pending investigation or disciplinary action, nor​
1010 1.10disqualified for any other reason, under the following circumstances:​
1111 1.11 (a) The applicant for licensure by endorsement under section 148.211, subdivision 2, is​
1212 1.12currently licensed to practice professional or practical nursing in another state, territory, or​
1313 1.13Canadian province. The permit is valid until the date of board action on the application or​
1414 1.14for 60 90 days, whichever comes first.​
1515 1.15 (b) The applicant for licensure by endorsement under section 148.211, subdivision 2,​
1616 1.16or for reregistration under section 148.231, subdivision 5, is currently registered in a formal,​
1717 1.17structured refresher course or its equivalent for nurses that includes clinical practice.​
