1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to motor vehicles; establishing full-service deputy registrar's office in the
1.3 city of Circle Pines.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. ADDITIONAL DEPUTY REGISTRAR OF MOTOR VEHICLES FOR
1.6ANOKA COUNTY.
1.7 Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 168.33, and rules adopted by the
1.8commissioner of public safety limiting sites for the office of deputy registrar based on either
1.9the distance to an existing deputy registrar office or the annual volume of transactions
1.10processed by any deputy registrar within Anoka County before or after the proposed
1.11appointment, the commissioner of public safety must appoint a new deputy registrar of
1.12motor vehicles and driver's license agent for Anoka County to operate a new full-service
1.13office of deputy registrar, with full authority to function as a registration and motor vehicle
1.14tax collection and driver's license bureau, at 9201 Lexington Avenue North in the city of
1.15Circle Pines. All other provisions regarding the appointment and operation of a deputy
1.16registrar of motor vehicles and driver's license agent under Minnesota Statutes, sections
1.17168.33 and 171.061, and Minnesota Rules, chapter 7406, apply to the office.
