1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to local government; requiring a copy of the landlord-tenant guide at
1.3 issuance or renewal of rental license; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
1.4 Statutes, chapter 471.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. [471.9994] LANDLORD-TENANT GUIDE.
1.7 If a home rule charter city, statutory city, or town issues or renews a rental license, or
1.8registration or certificate of occupancy, or a similar document for purposes of allowing a
1.9dwelling unit to be occupied by a residential tenant, as defined in section 504B.001,
1.10subdivision 12, the city or town must provide the landlord, as defined in section 504B.001,
1.11subdivision 7, with a physical copy of the attorney general's landlord-tenant guide, as defined
1.12in section 504B.275, or, if the document is renewed or issued electronically, a link to the
1.13guide on the attorney general's website.
