5 | 5 | | 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 120B.303, subdivision 1, is amended to read: |

6 | 6 | | 1.6 Subdivision 1.Graduation requirements.For students enrolled in grade 8 in the |
---|
7 | 7 | | 1.72012-2013 school year and later, students' (a) State graduation requirements, based on a |
---|
8 | 8 | | 1.8longitudinal, systematic approach to student education and career planning, assessment, |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1.9instructional support, and evaluation, include the following: |
---|
10 | 10 | | 1.10 (1) achievement and career and college readiness in mathematics, reading, and writing, |
---|
11 | 11 | | 1.11consistent with paragraph (k) and to the extent available, to monitor students' continuous |
---|
12 | 12 | | 1.12development of and growth in requisite knowledge and skills; analyze students' progress |
---|
13 | 13 | | 1.13and performance levels, identifying students' academic strengths and diagnosing areas where |
---|
14 | 14 | | 1.14students require curriculum or instructional adjustments, targeted interventions, or |
---|
15 | 15 | | 1.15remediation; and, based on analysis of students' progress and performance data, determine |
---|
16 | 16 | | 1.16students' learning and instructional needs and the instructional tools and best practices that |
---|
17 | 17 | | 1.17support academic rigor for the student; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | 1.18 (2) consistent with this paragraph subdivision and section 120B.125, age-appropriate |
---|
19 | 19 | | 1.19exploration and planning activities and career assessments to encourage students to identify |
---|
20 | 20 | | 1.20personally relevant career interests and aptitudes and help students and their families develop |
---|
21 | 21 | | 1.21a regularly reexamined transition plan for postsecondary education or employment without |
---|
22 | 22 | | 1.22need for postsecondary remediation. |
