1.2 relating to agriculture; appropriating money to the commissioner of agriculture
1.3 for an agricultural training program for Black youth at historical Black-owned
1.4 farms.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. YOUTH AGRICULTURAL TRAINING PROGRAM.
1.7 The commissioner of agriculture must establish an agricultural training program for
1.8Black youth at historical Black-owned farms in rural Minnesota. The program must offer
1.9training in traditional and modern farming practices, sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship,
1.10and community engagement. The program must provide mentorship opportunities to Black
1.11youth who are interested in farming.
1.12 Sec. 2. APPROPRIATION.
1.13 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.14of agriculture to establish an agricultural training program for Black youth at historical
1.15Black-owned farms in rural Minnesota. This is a onetime appropriation.
