1.2 relating to economic development; appropriating money for rural economic
1.3 development technical assistance grants.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
1.6ASSOCIATES.
1.7 $627,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.8of employment and economic development for a grant to Community and Economic
1.9Development Associates (CEDA) to provide funding for economic development technical
1.10assistance and economic development project grants to small communities across rural
1.11Minnesota and for CEDA to design, implement, market, and administer specific types of
1.12basic community and economic development programs tailored to individual community
1.13needs. Technical assistance grants shall be based on need and given to communities that
1.14are otherwise unable to afford these services. Of the amount appropriated, up to $270,000
1.15may be used for economic development project implementation in conjunction with the
1.16technical assistance received. This is a onetime appropriation.
