55 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 13.461, subdivision 27, is amended to read:​

77 1.7information for purposes of verifying eligibility for the State Soldiers Assistance Program,​
88 1.8the Veterans Stable Housing Initiative, and veterans programs is governed by section​

1010 1.10 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 197.065, is amended to read:​
1111 1.11 197.065 ACCESS TO DATABASE.​
12-1.12 (a) Notwithstanding section 13.46, subdivision 2, the commissioner of veterans affairs​
13-1.13may electronically access the MAXIS database maintained by the Department of Human​
14-1.14Services Children, Youth, and Families for the purpose of verifying eligibility status of​
15-1.15applicants for benefits under the State Soldiers Assistance Program, the Veterans Stable​
16-1.16Housing Initiative, and veterans programs. The commissioner may electronically access​
17-1.17the MAXIS database to ensure that veterans are connected to all available state and federal​
18-1.18resources for which the veterans are eligible.​
19-1.19 (b) In order to access any private data on individuals, as defined by section 13.02,​
20-1.20subdivision 12, pursuant to paragraph (a) of this section, the commissioner of veterans​
21-1.21affairs must have received informed consent from the subject of that data.​
