1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to environment; exempting certain zoos from fur farm requirements;
1.3 amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 97A.106, by adding a subdivision.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 97A.106, is amended by adding a subdivision
1.6to read:
1.7 Subd. 13.Exemption.This section does not apply to a zoo that:
1.8 (1) is a United States Department of Agriculture licensed exhibitor of regulated animals;
1.9 (2) houses animals owned by institutions accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium
1.10Association; and
1.11 (3) participates in the American Zoo and Aquarium Association Species Survival Plan.
1.12 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
