1.2 relating to health care; regulating prepayments for certain dental services; amending
1.3 Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 150A.11, by adding a subdivision.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 150A.11, is amended by adding a subdivision
1.6to read:
1.7 Subd. 5.Prepayment for certain dental services.For dental services in a dental
1.8treatment plan scheduled to take more than 90 days to complete, a dentist or dental practice
1.9is prohibited from requiring the patient to prepay any portion of the amount owed for the
1.10dental services before beginning to provide the dental services. Upon beginning to provide
1.11dental services to the patient according to a dental treatment plan scheduled to take more
1.12than 90 days to complete, a dentist or dental practice must allow the patient to pay for the
1.13dental services with at least two payments due at least 30 days apart.
