7 | 7 | | 1.7 Subdivision 1.Title.This section may be cited as the "Anti-Lawfare Law." |

8 | 8 | | 1.8 Subd. 2.Definitions.(a) For the purposes of this section, the following terms have the |

10 | 10 | | 1.10 (b) "Government entity" means: |

11 | 11 | | 1.11 (1) a state agency as defined in section 13.02, subdivision 17; or |

13 | 13 | | 1.13 (c) "Person" does not include a government entity. |

14 | 14 | | 1.14 Subd. 3.Award of costs.A government entity that commenced an action against a |

15 | 15 | | 1.15person and did not prevail is liable to the person for all costs, disbursements, and fees, |

16 | 16 | | 1.16including attorney fees, that the person incurred related to their defense. |

17 | 17 | | 1.17 Subd. 4.Other remedies.This section does not limit any other available remedies. |

18 | 18 | | 1.18 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective August 1, 2025, and applies to actions |

19 | 19 | | 1.19commenced on or after that date. |
