1212 1.12 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124D.452, is amended to read:​
1313 1.13 124D.452 DISTRICT REPORT; CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION.​
1414 1.14 (a) Each district and cooperative center must report data to the Department of Education​
1515 1.15for all career and technical education programs as required by the department.​
1616 1.16 (b) A district or cooperative center offering a postsecondary scholarship or grant​
1717 1.17consistent with section 124D.4532 must report its revenue and expenditures for the program​
1818 1.18in the form and manner required by the department.​

2929 2.2CAREER AND TECHNICAL STUDENTS.​
3030 2.3 Subdivision 1.Eligibility.A career and technical education program operated by a​
3131 2.4school district or a cooperative unit may provide a postsecondary scholarship or a​
3232 2.5postsecondary grant to an eligible student. An eligible student must:​
3333 2.6 (1) apply for the scholarship or grant during the student's senior year in the form and​
3434 2.7manner specified by the school board;​
3535 2.8 (2) successfully complete the career and technical education course that generated the​
3636 2.9net proceeds; and​
3737 2.10 (3) graduate from a Minnesota high school.​
3838 2.11 Subd. 2.Scholarship and grant amounts.(a) A school district or cooperative unit may​
3939 2.12annually set aside some or all net proceeds from a career and technical program when the​
4040 2.13revenue generated by the program is greater than the costs the school incurred in offering​
4141 2.14the program. The Department of Education may provide accounting guidelines to the school​
4242 2.15district or cooperative unit to determine the program's net proceeds.​
4343 2.16 (b) A school district may determine the amount of each individual student scholarship​
4444 2.17or grant so as not to exceed the annual net proceeds calculated under paragraph (a).​
4545 2.18 (c) A scholarship or grant may be used by a student for tuition and expenses to attend a​
4646 2.19postsecondary institution, the costs of a certificate program, or a student's costs associated​
4747 2.20with enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program. A grant may be used by a student​
4848 2.21directly entering the workforce or military for supplies needed for the student's chosen career​
4949 2.22pathway.​
5050 2.23 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2025.​
