44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; SUPPLEMENTAL NONPROFIT SECURITY​
66 1.6GRANTS.​
77 1.7 $....... in fiscal year 2026 and $....... in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the general​
88 1.8fund to the commissioner of public safety for supplemental nonprofit security grants under​
99 1.9this section. Nonprofit organizations whose applications for funding through the Federal​
1010 1.10Emergency Management Agency's nonprofit security grant program have been approved​
1111 1.11by the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management are eligible for grants​
1212 1.12under this section. No additional application shall be required for grants under this section,​
1313 1.13and an application for a grant from the federal program is also an application for funding​
1414 1.14from the state supplemental program. Eligible organizations may receive grants of up to​
1515 1.15$75,000, except that the total received by any individual from both the federal nonprofit​
1616 1.16security grant program and the state supplemental nonprofit security grant program shall​
1717 1.17not exceed $75,000. Grants shall be awarded in an order consistent with the ranking given​
1818 1.18to applicants for the federal nonprofit security grant program. No grants under the state​
1919 1.19supplemental nonprofit security grant program shall be awarded until the announcement of​
2020 1.20the recipients and the amount of the grants awarded under the federal nonprofit security​
2121 1.21grant program. The commissioner may use up to one percent of the appropriation received​
2222 1.22under this section to pay costs incurred by the department in administering the supplemental​
2323 1.23nonprofit security grant program.​
