1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to education finance; modifying the allowable uses of school library aid;
1.3 amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124D.992, subdivision 2.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124D.992, subdivision 2, is amended to read:
1.6 Subd. 2.Uses of school library aid.School library aid must be reserved and used for
1.7directly funding the costs of the following purposes within a school library or school library
1.8media center, as defined in section 124D.991:
1.9 (1) the salaries and benefits of a school library media specialist;
1.10 (2) electronic, computer, and audiovisual equipment;
1.11 (3) information technology infrastructure and digital tools;
1.12 (4) (2) electronic and material resources; or
1.13 (5) (3) furniture, equipment, or supplies.
1.14 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective for fiscal year 2026 and later.
