| 44 | 44 | | 2.12or other officer in charge of a state or county institution which is supported, wholly or in |

| 45 | 45 | | 2.13part, by public funds that houses persons serving a felony sentence shall inquire into the |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | 2.14nationality of each person in their custody who is serving a felony sentence. If it appears |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | 2.15that the person is an undocumented alien, the officer shall immediately notify the United |
|---|
| 48 | 48 | | 2.16States immigration officer in charge of the district in which the correctional facility, jail, or |
|---|
| 49 | 49 | | 2.17other institution is located of (1) the date of the conviction and the crime for which the alien |
|---|
