1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to economic development; appropriating money to Youthprise.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4 Section 1. YOUTHPRISE; APPROPRIATION.
1.5 $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from
1.6the workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic
1.7development for a grant to Youthprise to provide economic development services designed
1.8to enhance long-term economic self-sufficiency in communities statewide with concentrated
1.9populations from the African diaspora. At least 50 percent of grant money must be used for
1.10subgrants to organizations serving communities located outside the seven-county metropolitan
1.11area, as defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 473.121, subdivision 2. This is a onetime
1.12appropriation.
