33 1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
44 1.4 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; CONTINUOUS LIVING COVER CROPS.​
55 1.5 $5,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner​
66 1.6of employment and economic development to make grants, in consultation with the​
77 1.7commissioner of agriculture, to organizations in Minnesota to develop enterprises, supply​
88 1.8chains, and markets for continuous living cover crops and cropping systems in the early​
99 1.9stage of commercial development, including regenerative poultry silvopasture systems,​
1010 1.10Kernza perennial grain, winter camelina, and elderberry. A grantee may not receive a grant​
1111 1.11for the same purposes as this section from another agency within the same calendar year.​
1212 1.12By January 15th, 2027, the commissioner must report to the chairs and ranking minority​
1313 1.13members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction over economic development and​
1414 1.14agriculture regarding the uses of grant funds, including the amount of grant funds used for​
1515 1.15administration. This is a onetime appropriation.​
