1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to legacy; appropriating money for river watch program.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; RIVER WATCH PROGRAM.
1.5 $150,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $150,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the
1.6clean water fund to the commissioner of the Pollution Control Agency for grants to Friends
1.7of the Minnesota Valley to enhance and expand the existing water-quality and
1.8watershed-monitoring river watch activities in schools in the Minnesota River basin
1.9watershed and, in cooperation with Clean River Partners, to provide a river watch program
1.10in the Cannon River basin watershed. By February 15, 2027, Friends of the Minnesota
1.11Valley must provide a report to the commissioner and the legislative committees and divisions
1.12with jurisdiction over environment and natural resources finance and policy and the clean
1.13water fund on the expenditure of this appropriation.
