4	4	1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
5	5	1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 477A.36, subdivision 8, is amended to read:
6	6	1.6 Subd. 8.Appropriations.(a) $6,800,000 is annually appropriated from the general fund
7	7	1.7to the commissioner of revenue to make payments to counties as required under this section.
8	8	1.8 (b) $2,000,000 is annually appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
9	9	1.9revenue to make payments to tier I cities as required under this section.
10	10	1.10 (c) $1,200,000 is annually appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
11	11	1.11revenue to make payments to eligible Tribal Nations as required under this section.
12	12	1.12 (d) In fiscal years 2024 and 2025 only, an additional $8,500,000 is annually appropriated
13	13	1.13from the general fund to the commissioner of revenue to make payments to counties as
14	14	1.14required under this section. In fiscal years 2024 and 2025 only, an additional $2,500,000 is
15	15	1.15annually appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of revenue to make
16	16	1.16payments to tier I cities as required under this section. In fiscal years 2024 and 2025 only,
17	17	1.17an additional $1,500,000 is annually appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
18	18	1.18of revenue to make payments to eligible Tribal Nations as required under this section. In
19	19	1.19fiscal years 2024 and 2025 only, the commissioner shall transfer from the funds available
20	20	1.20to counties to the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency a sum sufficient to increase the
21	21	1.21amount in the account or accounts established under subdivision 3, paragraph (e), to
22	22	1.22$2,250,000. For aids payable in 2023 only, the commissioner may compute the amount of

32	32	The bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Housing Finance and Policy 2.1aid to be paid to aid recipients as late as August 1, 2023, and may make payments of aid
33	33	2.2under this section in one installment on December 26.
34	34	2.3 (e) In fiscal years 2026 and 2027 only, an additional $17,000,000 is annually appropriated
35	35	2.4from the general fund to the commissioner of revenue to make payments to counties as
36	36	2.5required under this section. In fiscal years 2026 and 2027 only, an additional $5,000,000 is
37	37	2.6annually appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of revenue to make
38	38	2.7payments to tier I cities as required under this section. In fiscal years 2026 and 2027 only,
39	39	2.8an additional $3,000,000 is annually appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
40	40	2.9of revenue to make payments to eligible Tribal Nations as required under this section. For
41	41	2.10aids payable in 2025 only, the commissioner may compute the additional amounts of aid
42	42	2.11to be distributed pursuant to subdivision 2 as late as July 15, 2025, and need not certify the
43	43	2.12additional amounts.
44	44	2.13 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective for aids payable in 2025 and 2026.
