1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to economic development; providing a grant to the city of Northrop;
1.3 requiring a report; appropriating money.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; CITY OF NORTHROP.
1.6 $230,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.7of employment and economic development for a grant to the city of Northrop for costs
1.8incurred by the city related to an elevator explosion and fire that occurred from December
1.928 to 30, 2017. The commissioner must provide a report regarding the use of grant funds
1.10to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction
1.11over workforce development. As a condition of receiving this grant, the city of Northrop
1.12must provide the commissioner with all information needed to complete the report. The
1.13report is due within 90 days after June 30, 2026.
