1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to education finance; establishing general education disparity aid;
1.3 appropriating money; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter
1.4 126C.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. [126C.127] GENERAL EDUCATION DISPARITY AID.
1.7 (a) A school district's general education disparity aid allowance equals 0.37 times the
1.8greater of:
1.9 (1) zero; or
1.10 (2) the difference between:
1.11 (i) the amount of adjusted general education revenue per adjusted pupil unit for the
1.12district at or immediately below the 20th percentile of districts; and
1.13 (ii) the amount of adjusted general education revenue per adjusted pupil unit for the
1.14district.
1.15 (b) For fiscal year 2026 and later, a district's general education disparity aid equals its
1.16general education disparity aid allowance times the adjusted pupil units.
1.17 (c) For the purposes of this section, "adjusted general education revenue" includes the
1.18district's general education revenue under section 126C.10, subdivision 1, and referendum
1.19revenue under section 126C.17, subdivision 4.
1.20 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective for revenue in fiscal year 2026 and later.
