1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to driver's education; permitting students to attend a combination of online, 1.3 teleconference, and in-person driver's education instruction under certain 1.4 circumstances; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 171. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. [171.397] FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTION PERMITTED. 1.7 A student may receive a combination of online driver's education instruction under 1.8section 171.396, teleconference driver's education instruction under section 171.395, and 1.9classroom instruction if: 1.10 (1) the instruction is from a single licensed or authorized driver's education provider; 1.11 (2) the classroom instruction curriculum is identical between the online, teleconference, 1.12and in-person settings; and 1.13 (3) the driver's education provider is authorized by the commissioner to provide students 1.14at least two methods of classroom instruction under the requirements of this chapter and 1.15Minnesota Rules, chapter 7411, or successor rules. 1.16 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective August 1, 2025, for driver's education 1.17instruction commenced on or after that date. 1Section 1.
