1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to public safety; establishing a grant for the Ramsey County Sheriff's
1.3 Office to provide security at certain events and participate in community
1.4 engagement; appropriating money.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. COMMUNITY CULTURAL EVENTS AND ENGAGEMENT;
1.7APPROPRIATION.
1.8 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from
1.9the general fund to the commissioner of public safety for the Office of Justice Programs to
1.10issue a grant to the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office. Grant money must be used to provide
1.11security or other safety services at cultural events within Ramsey County and for peace
1.12officers to participate in culturally informed community engagement. This is a onetime
1.13appropriation.
