| 6 | 6 | | 1.6 Section 1. [136A.247] PLANT-BASED FOODS PRODUCTION TRAINING PILOT |

| 7 | 7 | | 1.7PROGRAM. |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 1.8 The commissioner of higher education shall establish and administer a plant-based foods |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1.9production training pilot program to award grants to secondary career and technical education |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1.10programs and institutions of higher education for the purpose of offering instruction in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1.11plant-based food production. The commissioner must give priority to institutions that |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1.12coordinate with local producers of plant-based foods. Grants may be used for costs, including |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1.13but not limited to: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1.14 (1) equipment required to produce plant-based foods; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1.15 (2) facility renovations to accommodate plant-based food production; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 1.16 (3) training faculty to teach the fundamentals of plant-based food production. |

| 18 | 18 | | 1.18 $500,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner |
