1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant to Comunidades
1.3 Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES).
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.6 $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from
1.7the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant
1.8to Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES) to address employment, economic,
1.9and technology access disparities for low-income unemployed or underemployed individuals.
1.10Funds must support short-term certifications and transferable skills in high-demand fields,
1.11workforce readiness, customized financial capability, and employment supports. At least
1.1250 percent of this amount must be used for programming targeted at greater Minnesota.
1.13These are onetime appropriations.
