44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. TRANSFER AND APPROPRIATION; MINNESOTA HOMELESS​
66 1.6STUDY.​
77 1.7 (a) $900,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $900,000 in fiscal year 2027 are transferred from​
88 1.8the general fund to the housing development fund. This transfer is $900,000 in fiscal year​
99 1.92028 and each year thereafter.​
1010 1.10 (b) $900,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $900,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from​
1111 1.11the housing development fund to the commissioner of the Minnesota Housing Finance​
1212 1.12Agency for a grant to the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation for the Minnesota homeless study.​
1313 1.13This appropriation must be disbursed to the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation no later than​
1414 1.14July 15 of each year and used for activities directly related to the triennial Minnesota​
1515 1.15homeless study. Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 16B.98, subdivision 14, the​
1616 1.16commissioner may use up to one percent of this appropriation for administrative costs.​
1717 1.17 (c) The Amherst H. Wilder Foundation must submit a copy of the Minnesota homeless​
1818 1.18study and a report that summarizes the findings of the study to the chairs and ranking​
1919 1.19minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction over housing and​
2020 1.20homelessness by March 1, 2028, and every three years thereafter.​
2121 1.21 (d) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.28, any unencumbered balance in​
2222 1.22fiscal year 2026 does not cancel and is available in fiscal year 2027.​
