55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 124D.695, is amended to read:​
77 1.7 124D.695 APPROVED RECOVERY PROGRAM FUNDING.​
88 1.8 Subdivision 1.Approved recovery program."Approved recovery program" means a​
99 1.9course of instruction offered by a recovery school that provides academic services, assistance​
1010 1.10with recovery, and continuing care to students recovering from substance abuse or​
1111 1.11dependency. A recovery program may be offered in a transitional academic setting designed​
1212 1.12to meet graduation requirements. A recovery program must be recognized based on national​
1313 1.13standards by the Association of Recovery Schools or other organizations recognized by the​
1414 1.14commissioner of education and the program must be approved by the commissioner of​
1515 1.15education. The commissioner may specify the manner and form of the application for the​
1616 1.16approval of a recovery school or recovery program. The commissioner must also approve​
1717 1.17any unreimbursed pupil transportation costs incurred by students participating in an approved​
1818 1.18recovery program.​
1919 1.19 Subd. 2.Eligibility.(a) An approved recovery program is eligible for an annual recovery​
2020 1.20program grant of up to $125,000 $325,000 to pay for a portion of the costs under this section​
2121 1.21for recovery program support staff, student and family recovery support staff, and approved​
2222 1.22pupil transportation expenses.​
