44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. Laws 2024, chapter 115, article 2, section 21, subdivision 2, is amended to​
66 1.6read:​
77 1.7 Subd. 2.Required health-related subject areas.The commissioner must include the​
88 1.8following expectations for learning in the statewide standards:​
99 1.9 (1) cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automatic external defibrillator education that​
1010 1.10allows districts to provide instruction to students in grades 7 through 12 in accordance with​
1111 1.11Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.236;​
1212 1.12 (2) vaping awareness and prevention education that allows districts to provide instruction​
1313 1.13to students in grades 6 through 8 in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.238,​
1414 1.14subdivision 3;​
1515 1.15 (3) cannabis use and substance use education that allows districts to provide instruction​
1616 1.16to students in grades 6 through 12 in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.215;​
1717 1.17 (4) sexually transmitted infections and diseases education that meets the requirements​
1818 1.18of Minnesota Statutes, section 121A.23; and​
1919 1.19 (5) mental health education for students in grades 4 through 12.; and​
2020 1.20 (6) organ donation education for students in grade 9.​
2121 1.21 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
