5 | 5 | | 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: |

6 | 6 | | 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 145A.02, subdivision 15, is amended to read: |

7 | 7 | | 1.7 Subd. 15.Medical consultant."Medical consultant" means an individual who: |
---|
8 | 8 | | 1.8 (1) is licensed in Minnesota by the Board of Medical Practice as a physician licensed to |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1.9practice medicine in Minnesota who, doctor of osteopathic medicine, or physician assistant |
---|
10 | 10 | | 1.10or is licensed in Minnesota by the Board of Nursing as an advanced practice registered nurse |
---|
11 | 11 | | 1.11and is certified to practice as a clinical nurse specialist or nurse practitioner by a national |
---|
12 | 12 | | 1.12nurse certification organization acceptable to the board; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | 1.13 (2) is working under a written agreement with, employed by, or on contract with a |
---|
14 | 14 | | 1.14community health board to provide advice and information, to authorize medical procedures |
---|
15 | 15 | | 1.15through protocols, and to assist a community health board and its staff in coordinating their |
---|
16 | 16 | | 1.16activities with local medical practitioners and health care institutions. |
