44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 609.502, subdivision 1a, is amended to read:​
66 1.6 Subd. 1a.Penalty.A person convicted under subdivision 1, clause (2) or (3), is guilty​
77 1.7of a gross misdemeanor. A person convicted under subdivision 1, clause (1), may be​
88 1.8sentenced to imprisonment for not more than three 20 years or to a payment of a fine of not​
99 1.9more than $5,000 $20,000 or both.​
1010 1.10 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective August 1, 2025, and applies to crimes​
