| 5 | 5 | | 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: |

| 6 | 6 | | 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 144.4961, subdivision 3, is amended to read: |

| 7 | 7 | | 1.7 Subd. 3.Rulemaking.The commissioner of health shall adopt rules establishing licensure |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 1.8requirements and work standards relating to indoor radon in dwellings and other buildings, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1.9with the exception of newly constructed Minnesota homes according to section 326B.106, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1.10subdivision 6. The commissioner shall coordinate, oversee, and implement all state functions |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1.11in matters concerning the presence, effects, measurement, and mitigation of risks of radon |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1.12in dwellings and other buildings. Rules adopted by the commissioner under this subdivision |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1.13are effective beginning January 1, 2019. |

| 14 | 14 | | 1.14 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 144.4961, subdivision 5, is amended to read: |
