1.2 relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money to Stairstep Foundation
1.3 for African American cultural festivals and events.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; STAIRSTEP FOUNDATION.
1.6 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the arts and cultural heritage fund
1.7to the director of Explore Minnesota for a grant to the Stairstep Foundation for African
1.8American cultural festivals and events. Grant funds may be used for infrastructure and
1.9associated costs for the festivals and events, including but not limited to buildout, permits,
1.10sanitation and maintenance services, transportation, staffing, event programming, public
1.11safety, facilities and equipment rentals, signage, and insurance. This is a onetime
1.12appropriation.
