6 | 6 | | 1.6 Subd. 9.Joint legislative studies.The Legislative Coordinating Commission shall |

7 | 7 | | 1.7oversee and coordinate all joint legislative studies mandated by the legislature and may |

8 | 8 | | 1.8require regular progress reports to the commission and appropriate standing committees of |

9 | 9 | | 1.9the house of representatives and the senate. Appropriations for all joint legislative studies |

10 | 10 | | 1.10except those specifically assigned to an existing legislative office or commission shall be |

11 | 11 | | 1.11made to the Legislative Coordinating Commission. Responsibility and appropriations for |

12 | 12 | | 1.12a joint legislative study may be delegated by the Legislative Coordinating Commission to |

13 | 13 | | 1.13an existing staff office of the house of representatives or senate, a legislative commission, |

14 | 14 | | 1.14a joint legislative committee or office or a state agency. The office, commission, joint |

15 | 15 | | 1.15committee, or agency responsible for the study may contract with another agent for assistance. |
