1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to public safety; providing protection to children and vulnerable adults 1.3 from exposure to fentanyl; imposing criminal penalties for violation; amending 1.4 Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 152.137, subdivision 2. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 152.137, subdivision 2, is amended to read: 1.7 Subd. 2.Prohibited conduct.(a) No person may knowingly engage in any of the 1.8following activities in the presence of a child or vulnerable adult; in the residence of a child 1.9or a vulnerable adult; in a building, structure, conveyance, or outdoor location where a child 1.10or vulnerable adult might reasonably be expected to be present; in a room offered to the 1.11public for overnight accommodation; or in any multiple unit residential building: 1.12 (1) manufacturing or attempting to manufacture methamphetamine; 1.13 (2) storing any chemical substance; 1.14 (3) storing any methamphetamine waste products; or 1.15 (4) storing any methamphetamine paraphernalia. 1.16 (b) No person may knowingly cause or permit a child or vulnerable adult to inhale, be 1.17exposed to, have contact with, or ingest methamphetamine, a chemical substance, or 1.18methamphetamine paraphernalia. 1.19 (c) No person may knowingly cause or permit a child or vulnerable adult to inhale, be 1.20exposed to, have contact with, or ingest fentanyl. 1Section 1.
